Mortal Kombat - Pit of Spikes

While in Pre-production in Adelaide, I worked quite a bit on the 'Pit of Spikes'. Naaman Marshall, had crafted a model from sculpting foam, which I then modelled in Zbrush and produced a bunch of early concept images. Later on when I was working in VFX at Kojo, I used the blue screen film plates to create more concepts. I did do few variations using long spiked pillars, such as they are in the video games, but ultimately the single arch idea proved a better option for the film.
